ABOUT THE LEAGUE
The California Credit Union League and the Nevada Credit Union Leagues are the trade associations for credit unions in those states. They serve more than 400 credit unions in California and Nevada with more than than 10 million members and more than $115 billion in assets. 
WHAT IS A CREDIT UNION?
Members are united by a common bond of association and democratically
operate the credit union under state or federal regulation.
As of March 2006, there are more than 9,000 credit unions in the United States. About 554 of these are in California and 29 in Nevada. Of the 87 million credit union members nationwide, more than 9.8 million are in California and more than 467,000 are in Nevada.

PUBLIC AFFAIRS DEPARTMENT
The Public Affairs Department welcomes any questions you may have about the credit union industry. Department staff can provide you with statistics and information on credit unions in both California and Nevada as well as on the national level. The California and Nevada Credit Union Leagues have named Keri Bailey as director of state government affairs. Bailey joined the Leagues in 2005 as the state legislative and regulatory lobbyist after a 10-year career working in the California legislature.  |
