|Job Description||USC Credit Union (USCCU) has an immediate opening for a Programmer/Systems Analyst.
Primary job duties include programming new Symitar (Credit Union software) reports and features; supervising and training student workers; designing and implementing new IT systems; overseeing administration and maintenance of systems; providing expert-level Symitar, software, and hardware support; ensuring quality of support, systems security, and availability; and assisting Chief Information Officer (CIO) with vendor/technology evaluation and identifying organizational IT needs. The ideal candidate will show a proven ability to take a given task and work independently and/or as part of a team to bring the task to completion. Programming/scripting experience is required, preferably with multiple languages, along with a demonstrated ability to learn to program in new languages (specifically Symitar's repgen language). The candidate must have an ability to analytically troubleshoot complex problems and strong verbal and written communication skills. Expert knowledge of Windows client and server OS's, experience with Active Directory and Microsoft Exchange, and some experience with Unix-like systems is expected; experience with Symitar is a strong plus, as is VMware, AIX, and Cisco networking experience. Strong candidates will show a desire to write code that is quickly pushed into production. An ability to read, maintain, debug, and succinctly comment code is a must. Candidate must be a self-starter and have a keen problem solving ability.
On your resume, in addition to your IT experience, please list your previous programming/scripting experience as well as any programming projects you've worked on. This position requires being on-call after hours in case of outages and other urgent issues.
