|Job Description||Sacramento Credit Union has had a growing membership base for over 75 years. With six local branches and $360 million in assets, SCU takes pride in the integrity and trust it has built with its members. We have a terrific opportunity for an individual to become our Real Estate Loan Manager. You will manage the Real Estate Lending Department, which funded over 400 real estate loans in 2012, exceeding $87M. You will have the opportunity to underwrite real estate loans in addition to performing secondary market functions.
*Plans, manages and oversees the origination, processing, underwriting, loan closing and secondary marketing of the Real Estate Lending Department. Directs department objectives, policies and procedures to ensure optimal quality, member satisfaction and strategic goals are achieved. Ensures that daily mortgage operations achieve business objectives.
*Performs and oversees the underwriting function and coordinates the closing of real estate loans in accordance with specific timeframes.
*Provides management and leadership to assigned staff. Ensures a competent, motivated staff through training, coaching, counseling and reviewing performance of employees. Recommends individuals for hiring, promotion, discipline and/or termination.
*Reviews loan packages for completeness of documents and compliance with Credit Union policy, regulatory requirements and secondary market lending parameters.
*Compiles, analyzes and tracks data for operational and special reports including weekly, monthly and annual pipeline, compliance and production reports.
*Maintains awareness of investor guideline updates changing economic conditions and new trends.
*Monitors interest rate fluctuation with appropriate Investors and general market; maintains current interest rate quotes to Loan Consultants.
*Responsible for locking interest rates with appropriate investors.
*Responsible for selling and delivering loans to designated investors.
*Performs secondary marketing function for first mortgage rates.
Successful candidates will have:
*A Bachelor’s Degree in Business or the equivalent in related work experience.
*Demonstrated progressive experience in loan operations and real estate transactions, preferably in a financial institution.
*Working knowledge of automated loan-processing systems, such as Calyx Point, Contour, etc.
*Working knowledge of Fannie Mae, Freddie Mac, FHA and VA products and services, underwriting guidelines, policies and procedures. Gains thorough knowledge/training for other agencies as required.
*Knowledge of credit union policies, procedures, laws and regulations.
*Strong knowledge of compliance with relevant state and federal laws.
*Strong ability to lead, direct and manage staff.
*Strong written and verbal communication and presentation skills.
