|Company||North Island Credit Union|
|Job Description||North Island Credit Union, VP, Controller Job Posting
Naval Air Station San Diego Federal Credit Union was formed July 25, 1940, on the eve of WorldWar II. Initially, loans were limited to $30 unsecured and $50 secured. Total assets reached the half-million-dollar mark in the mid-1950’s. The credit union was renamed North Island Federal Credit Union on May 11, 1976. In 2004, we shortened our name to North Island Credit Union and introduced our new logo with an emphasis on the “Island”. The new logo and streamlined name are simpler and more convenient. Today, the credit union is a full service financial institution with 10 branch locations throughout San Diego.
In 2008, our six-story headquarters building opened in Kearny Mesa, near the intersection of highways 805 and 52. This state-of-art facility embraces an environmentally-friendly design seeking LEED certification. LEED certification provides independent, third-party verification that the building is environmentally responsible, profitable and a healthy place of work.
