PROTECT YOUR ELDERLY MEMBERS

Tips on Financial Abuse
If one of your elderly members were being victimized, would you recognize it? Would you know how to handle it?

On Nov. 19, credit union compliance expert Mary-Lou Heighes will point out abuse signs, what proactive steps your credit union can take to prevent such cases, and what you must do when you suspect an elderly or dependent adult member is being financially victimized.

The Elder Financial Abuse Procedures & Prevention in California webinar will focus on:

  • What is elderly and dependent adult financial abuse?
  • What are “red flags” of abuse?
  • Reporting elderly financial abuse.
  • What to do if a scared or embarrassed member does not want the abuse reported?
  • Your credit union’s liability for reporting suchfinancial abuse.

You should attend this webinar if you have direct contact with senior or dependent adult members, or review or approve their financial transactions.

Registration is free for Power Learner Passport holders, $189 for League members who are not Power Learner Passport holders, and $331 for non-League members.
