PREVENT ELDER FINANCIAL ABUSE
updated 11/04/13 03:23 PM
Protect Your Members
When elderly members are targeted by financial predators, your intervention may be their only line of defense.

Sign up for the Nov. 19 “Elder Financial Abuse Procedures and Prevention in California" webinar to learn what steps your credit union must take when you suspect abuse. This webinar repeats on Nov. 21 for Nevada credit unions.

During the webinar, credit union expert Mary-Lou Heighes will discuss:

  • What is elder and dependent adult financial abuse?
  • What are “red flags” of abuse?
  • Reporting elder financial abuse
  • What to do if a scared or embarrassed member does not want the abuse reported?
  • Your credit union’s liability for reporting elder financial abuse

Who should attend?
Credit union staff that have direct contact with elder or dependent adult members, or who review or approve their financial transactions, such as security, member service and tellers, branch managers, operations, training and professional development, and compliance.

Registration is free for Power Learner Passport holders, $189 for League members who are not Power Learner Passport holders, and $331 for non-League members.
