The California and Nevada Credit Union Leagues administer a variety of awards throughout the year.
The League Awards program is a great opportunity for individuals, credit unions, and chapters to recognize the contributions of outstanding leaders within the credit union community in California and Nevada:
Dora Maxwell and Louise Herring Awards
The Dora Maxwell Social Responsibility Community Service Award recognizes the community service achievements of credit unions, multiple credit union groups, and chapters. It also honors those that have demonstrated an understanding of the importance of credit union membership and financial education, and awareness of the diverse and underserved groups within the community. The Louise Herring Philosophy-in-Action Member Service Award recognizes credit unions that demonstrate in an extraordinary way the practical application of the credit union philosophy for their members.
First-place winners in each asset category in both awards will receive a plaque in recognition and their entries will be forwarded to CUNA for the national-level competition.
Desjardins Youth and Adult Financial Education Awards
The Desjardins Adult Financial Education Award recognizes model credit union/chapter efforts to teach personal finance concepts and skills to members and nonmembers age 18 and older. The Desjardins Youth Financial Education Award recognizes model credit union efforts to teach personal finance concepts and skills to members and nonmembers under age 18.
