CA CUs RAISE $1.2M FOR CU4KIDS

CA, NV Fundraising Totals $1.37 Million
Credit unions headquartered in California raised an inspiring $1.27 million for Credit Unions for Kids (CU4Kids) in 2012, the primary fundraising vehicle for Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals, a nonprofit organization dedicated to the medical research and treatment of children illnesses.

The state’s fundraising initiative ranked the most of any participating state. Leading the fundraising effort was the 2012 California and Nevada Credit Unions for Kids Wine Auction event, raising nearly $282,000.

Coming in second place in California was First Tech FCU, headquartered in Mountain View, CA, with $123,800 raised. In the third spot was Santa Ana, CA-based SchoolsFirst FCU, clocking in with an impressive $96,900 for the year.

Credit unions from Nevada raised $97,300 on behalf of CU4Kids in 2012. Silver State Schools CU of Las Vegas raised $16,400. Boulder Dam CU, located in Boulder City, NV, came in third with $15,000.

CUs4Kids is a collaboration of credit unions, chapters, leagues and associations, and vendor partners dedicated to raising money and awareness that benefits the 170 children’s hospitals belonging to Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals.
