Annual Meeting to Give Important Update
Don't miss Catalyst Corporate FCU's second annual meeting on April 9, with an exciting two-day conference to follow!

Member credit unions are invited to attend the annual meeting and luncheon at the Rancho Bernardo Inn in San Diego at noon on April 9. At that time, Catalyst Corporate’s activities and financial performance for 2012 will be reviewed, members will learn about plans for 2013 and board elections will be conducted. Registration brochures were sent to Catalyst Corporate’s 1,200-plus members in early February.

The conference to follow the annual meeting will begin at 1:30 p.m. on April 9 and is entitled, Accelerating Success. A slate of five well-regarded speakers will offer credit union financial industry and economic insights. Topics include an Economic Outlook for Credit Unions, How Mobile Banking Can Increase ROI, Managing Liquidity and Other Critical Issues, Crafting the Member Experience and Using Innovation to Move Your Credit Union Forward.

The Accelerating Success conference will include an evening reception and networking opportunity on April 9 and will resume at 8 a.m. on April 10, ending at 11:15 a.m. with an optional golfing opportunity at 1 p.m.

SPEAKERS
Among the speakers at the conference will be:

  • Steven Rick—Rick is senior economist for CUNA and Affiliates’ Economics and Statistics Department. He will share economic insights of particular interest to credit unions. Jim Van Dyke, CEO of Javelin Strategy and Research, will discuss mobile banking as a value added product.
  • Steven Houle—Director of advisory services at Catalyst Strategic Solutions, Houle will present financial and investment strategies to help credit unions manage their balance sheets in the current economic environment.
  • Kelly McDonald—A marketing and advertising expert featured on CNBC and in Forbes and BusinessWeek, McDonald will speak to improving the member experience as it relates to credit unions.
  • Jackson Hataway—A specialist in organizational development and strategic planning, Hataway will couple real-world practicality with new theories of corporate growth in his presentation as he offers suggestions that will accelerate credit union success.

Catalyst Corporate will also award up to six CPE credits to those in attendance.

REGISTRATION AND HOTEL INFORMATION
The Catalyst Corporate annual meeting and luncheon is complimentary, but reservations are required. The Accelerating Success Conference is open to all credit unions. Registration fee is $450.

All breaks, available presentation materials and the Tuesday evening reception are included in the registration fee. And a block of rooms has been reserved at a special rate of $189 per room, per night at the Rancho Bernardo Inn, but rooms are limited. The golf outing on April 10 requires a $100 green fee.

Launch Financial Capability Center
The National Federation of Community Development Credit Unions (Federation) and Equifax Inc. announced a partnership to build the Westside Financial Capability Center. The Center will provide the Atlanta Westside community with affordable banking, alternatives to payday loans, affordable home mortgages, and a suite of financial services designed to empower residents to achieve their financial goals. The search for a physical site has narrowed to several options that will allow the Center to function in coordination with Atlanta area credit unions, community stakeholders and service providers. Equifax has committed $450,000 through 2018 in support of the Center which is scheduled to open in early 2017.
