GOLF TOURNEY TO FUNDRAISE FOR KIDS
updated 09/05/13 12:55 PM
Longest Course in Northern California
This year's highly anticipated 7th Annual Credit Union Children's Golf Hospital Tournament will take place on Oct. 7 at the prestigious Ruby Hill Golf Club in Pleasanton, CA—an exclusive Jack Nicklaus-designed championship course.
At 225 acres and 7,400 yards, this 18-hole course is the longest in Northern California.
"In years past the tournament was just a local chapter event in Northern California," said Rob Greaff chairman of the tournament and CEO of Delta Schools FCU. "But for 2013 we worked with the California Credit Union League, and the golf tournament has become a statewide event.”
Together with CU4Kids Wine Auction, Credit Union SacTown Ten-Mile Run, and International Credit Union Day for Kids, the golf tournament represents the fourth state-wide event for California and Nevada credit unions to support Children's Miracle Network.
In the last six years, the tournament raised more than $200,000 for Children’s Hospital & Research Center Oakland, and more than $50,000 for UC Davis Children's Hospital.
“I am excited and looking forward to our tournament becoming a premiere event for Credit Unions for Kids in California," said Greaff. "Everyone you ask knows someone who has had a friend, co-worker, or family member who has had a child receive world-class medical care at Children’s. Credit Union for Kids is a charity everyone can get behind and support.”
