Help Spread the Message
The Credit Union National Association (CUNA) has announced it will hold an online rally tomorrow (Oct. 2) starting at 11 a.m. (Pacific) to spread knowledge and re-engage the energy behind the Don’t Tax My Credit Union campaign.
CUNA has asked credit union employees and supporters to join the rally online at www.donttaxmycreditunion.org and engage with each other and members of Congress on Twitter. Across the country, several credit unions will encourage their staff to participate by logging in and tweeting photos and videos of watch parties, all using the #CUrally and #DontTaxMyCU hashtags.
CUNA will also reach out to past advocates and ask them to join the online rally. The primary goal is to create increased social media buzz around the tax campaign. To that end, supporters can send pre-loaded tweets targeted at each individual’s personal representatives from CUNA’s www.donttaxmycreditunion.org webpage.
Latest CA and NV Numbers
In other news, the efforts by so many in California and Nevada have hit another milestone. California and Nevada credit unions have surpassed 200,000 contacts made with Congress.
That’s a huge step in the right direction. "The goal is still to send a combined 500,000 contacts from both states, so there is plenty of work to be done," said California and Nevada Credit Union Leagues Manager of Grassroots Advocacy David Creager. "However, your hard work has put California and Nevada at the forefront of the national effort."
If you have any questions or wish to learn how to best participate, please contact David Creager at firstname.lastname@example.org.
