Submit Your T-Shirt Design
Financial Center CU, in partnership with I.C. Ink, have announced a call for entries in the first annual "CU T’s Design" Competition.
Launched last fall, CU T’s is a line of hipster T-shirts created to help raise awareness and funds for the California Credit Union League Political Action Committee (PAC). Design submissions are being accepted now through Aug. 21. Public voting will help determine which design will be used for the 2013 CU T.
In its inaugural year, CU T’s featured three designs created by Financial Center CU. But President and CEO Michael Duffy wanted to open the design process this year to help increase participation in the project.
"Everyone appreciates a clever and whimsical shirt," Duffy said. "But those shirts become exponentially more 'cool' when you know you had a hand in the design and selection process. Our goal is to get the buzz started about International Credit Union Day. Getting the message out has to be fun so people don’t feel like they’re simply being lectured on the merits of a cooperative structure."
Credit union executives, staff, volunteers and even members can get their potential designs in the running by visiting www.WizeHive.com/contests/cut. They will be able to submit their design, as well as see other submissions, and vote for their favorite.
Voting will end Aug. 22 at 8 p.m. (Eastern). At that time, the top design will be submitted to I.C. Ink to start the production process. The winning design will be available for purchase at www.icink.com/stores/CUT on Sept. 9. T-shirts will cost $12, plus tax and shipping, with 50 percent of the cost of each T-shirt donated to PAC.
With each CU T T-shirt purchased, a portion of the proceeds is donated to the California Credit Union League Political Action Committee (CCUL-PAC). Donations to the CCUL-PAC are not tax deductible under state or federal law.
