|20,000 Letters Generated So Far
|Credit union leaders were reminded by the California and Nevada Credit Union Leagues this week that their participation is essential to preserving the movement's tax-exempt status.
|Last week the threat escalated when the Senate Finance Committee identified the credit union tax status as a potential target for abolishment.

The Leagues want to thank the following credit unions for their leadership in engaging members to reach out to Congress:
- California Coast CU
- KeyPoint CU
- LBS Financial CU
- Media City CU
- Silver State Schools CU
|"These grassroots leaders have helped generate more than 20,000 letters to Congress, but we have a long way to go to hit our goal of 500,000 contacts from California and Nevada," said David Creager, manager of grassroots advocacy for the Leagues.
