Travis CU recently hosted a Legislative Meet-and-Greet with Assemblywoman Susan Bonilla, D-Concord, where Travis CU's CEO and staff educated Bonilla about the vital role Travis plays within the local community. Travis CU also appointed Misun Thompson as senior vice president and COO, promoted Stacy Fifield to senior vice president and chief lending officer, and appointed Teresa Shafer as vice president of human resources and training. Additionally, Travis CU executives, the Yolo Family Resource Center, and Vacaville city officials honored and celebrated the credit union's New Era Tanda program in August—an initiative that implements a savings-and-lending program leveraging a Latin American cultural tradition. Also, Travis CU recently awarded 20 high school students the Mary Keith Duff Memorial Scholarship, where each recipient was given $1,500 for college expenses. In addition, Travis CU partnered with the Solano County Office of Education, a local radio station, and the Food Bank of Contra Costa and Solano in support of the regional Stuff the Bus Campaign, where participants donated and collected school supplies for local children in need.
