Redwood CU employees showed their support during the United Way's annual Week of Caring by volunteering at nonprofits throughout the North Bay region of California and raising more than $90,000 during its annual United Way Employee Giving Campaign. Nearly 60 employees completed projects in Sonoma, Marin, Mendocino, and Napa counties. Redwood CU also hosted its annual Shred-a-Thon at two of its locations, where more than 28 tons of documents were shredded and several truckloads of e-waste were collected for recycling. Additionally, attendees contributed almost 3,000 pounds of canned food and $170 to benefit the Redwood Empire and San Francisco/Marin Food Banks. Finally, Redwood CU introduced a mobile banking app for Android and iOS devices, allowing members to deposit checks using their smart phones.
