LEAGUE AWARDS: The Leo H. Shapiro Lifetime Achievement, Distinguished Service, Outstanding Volunteer, and Tomorrow’s Star awards are collectively known as the California Credit Union League’s Awards. Recipients will be honored at the Leagues' Annual Meeting and Convention, which will be held October 25-28 in San Francisco. The 2012 Leo H. Shapiro Lifetime Achievement Award recipient was Bruce Barnett, retired CEO of Educational Employees CU. The other 2012 recipients were Distinguished Service Award—United Health CU CEO Linda White; Outstanding Volunteer Award—Mid-Cities CU Board Treasurer Roy Brooks and CoastHills FCU Board Chairman Hugh Rafferty; and Tomorrow’s Star Awards—San Francisco FCU Membership Development Manager Courtney Derby and Nikkei CU Accounting Manager Jennifer Kato. COMMUNITY OUTREACH/DORA MAXWELL AWARD: First-place winners in each asset category will be honored at AMC, and their entries will be forwarded to CUNA for the national-level competition. Last year’s recipient was Meriwest CU. LOUISE HERRING AWARD: First-place winners in each asset category will receive a plaque in recognition and their entries will be forwarded to CUNA for the national-level competition.
