This week, Assembly Concurrent Resolution 34 (ACR 34) was presented on the California State Assembly floor by Assemblymember Phillip Chen (R-Yorba Linda), who is also vice chair of the Assembly Banking and Finance Committee.
ACR 34 designates the month of April as “Financial Capability Month” in California. The California Credit Union League worked with Chen to introduce this important financial literacy resolution.
During his presentation, Chen acknowledged the importance of financial education and the commitment of credit unions to continuously support financial literacy legislation. He specifically mentioned the Richard Myles Johnson (RMJ) Foundation’s work in local schools and communities, and he shared the great work by the foundation’s “Bite of Reality” program!
