California and Nevada Credit Union Leagues Win Two Communicators Awards

The California and Nevada Credit Union Leagues is a two-time winner of the 23rd Annual Communicator Awards. The Leagues received an Award of Distinction in the Integrated Campaign category for its marketing campaign for the trade association’s annual meeting and convention, known as REACH, and another Award of Distinction for its newly revamped website (

The Leagues was honored for the marketing campaign of its annual meeting and convention, known as REACH. The theme for REACH 2016 was “It’s time…” The marketing objective was to position the convention as the place to get the tools and insights needed to REACH new heights and new opportunities. A multidimensional marketing and advertising strategy targeted multiple audiences, including credit union executives and mid-level staff. Promotional pieces—all written and designed in-house—included brochures, videos, flyers, email, and an interactive mobile app. The result was a seven-percent attendee percentage increase over 2015.

The Leagues received an Award of Distinction for the newly revamped League website in the digital/website category. The new site was officially launched late last year with user-friendly features and compatible with all desktop and mobile devices.

With more than 6,000 entries received from across the U.S. and around the world, the Communicator Awards is the largest and most competitive awards program honoring creative excellence for communications professionals.

“We are so excited to compete with Fortune 500 companies such as ADOBE, Anthem, and Kellogg’s, to name a few,” said Leagues Vice President Communications & Marketing
Carol E. Payne. “Winning this award helps to increase the scope and recognizable brand of America’s credit unions in the marketplace. We are here to provide consumers a financial choice, consumer awareness is critical to help us reach (no pun intended) that goal. Our team put forth an awesome effort in designing and creating these promotional resources.”

The Communicator Awards are judged and overseen by the Academy of Interactive and Visual Arts (AIVA), a 600-plus member organization of leading professionals from various disciplines of the visual arts dedicated to embracing progress and the evolving nature of traditional and interactive media. Winning entries were selected based on a standard of excellence in marketing and communications.
