Earlier this week, the Nevada State Legislature proclaimed April as “Financial Literacy Month” with a resolution (Senate Concurrent Resolution 2) that was read on the floors of the state senate on Monday and the state assembly on Tuesday.
Sen. Roberta Lange (D-Las Vegas) worked with the Nevada Credit Union League to introduce the resolution, personally presenting it on the senate floor.
Assemblyman Duy Nguyen (D-Las Vegas) presented the resolution in the assembly, where he was joined by Great Basin FCU CEO Jennifer Denoo and Chief Experience Officer Elisabeth Hadler, as well as Greater Nevada CU Vice President of Business Development John Ahdunko.
A special “thank you” goes out to Great Basin FCU and Greater Nevada CU for representing the League in the state legislature!
“The committee passage deadline is Friday of this week,” said Robert Wilson, senior vice president of state government affairs for the Nevada Credit Union League. “The League is working on numerous pieces of legislation to ensure positive results for Nevada credit unions. Stay tuned for more updates.”
