Jennifer Audette, CEO of Polam CU, was recently part of a larger group of women in the local Burbank community who were heralded for their professional acumen and civic engagement, as well as being guests of honor at California State Senator Anthony Portantino’s latest district legislative update and awards luncheon.
Audette is a Burbank native whose deep-rooted connections to the community were mirrored in her dedication to local schools and her own daughters’ education.
“Being honored for the very work that is my passion means the world to me,” Audette said. She noted that the recognition was a validation of the “people helping people” philosophy that credit unions were founded upon.
Portantino’s event at Castaway Restaurant drew an audience of nearly 400 and spotlighted the impact and inspiration these leaders have fostered in their community. Local community leaders, family members, and friends all attended on December 5 to celebrate and honor 41 extraordinary women, nine of whom have strong ties to the Burbank community.
“Their credentials and achievements prove to girls and young women that they can be anything they choose,” Portantino said of the honorees.
