Cheney and Dykstra: Please Support Worldwide Financial Inclusion

Going into this year’s International Credit Union Day (ICU Day) on October 19, SchoolsFirst FCU CEO Bill Cheney and California and Nevada Credit Union Leagues President Diana Dykstra are asking you to join in providing financial inclusion around the world through the “Members Helping Members” campaign!

The Leagues’ team fundraising effort in this campaign is working hard to raise $75,000 to support initiatives under the Worldwide Foundation for Credit Unions, a foundation under the World Council of Credit Unions. Cheney is this year’s World Foundation chair and Dykstra is chair of World Council — and both are urging credit unions leaders and their employees to get involved by partnering with the Leagues to reach the $75,000 goal.

Contributions by credit union leaders and their staff will help the World Council spread financial inclusion within local communities across the globe as part of the credit union movement’s ICU Day awareness. SchoolsFirst FCU and the Leagues have already donated $7,500 each to provide a $15,000 jumpstart (the foundation’s worldwide goal is $750,000).

Also, there are some great prizes up for grabs for those contributing to the cause!

Overall, the “Members Helping Members” campaign is helping local credit union professionals like YOU connect with the global credit union system by providing a financial lifeline to those in need. When fellow credit union teams and individuals come together across California and Nevada to invest their dollars in a unified cause, it makes a worthwhile impact — locally and abroad.

The Leagues look forward to having you and your staff consider giving the gift of financial inclusion to millions of people across the world.
