More than $90,000 was raised during the 2023 Richard Myles Johnson (RMJ) / Origence Annual Golf Classic this week, which was sold out and drew 144 golfers and 46 sponsors who took to the links at the Monarch Beach Resort in Dana Point, CA!

The Richard Myles Johnson Foundation (RMJ) is the state foundation for credit unions in California and Nevada, funding financial education programs and helping credit unions fulfill their mission of serving their local communities. The foundation is able to fund these vital programs because of generous donations from credit unions and credit union organizations.
In addition to title sponsor Origence, the event’s major sponsors included Co-op Solutions and PSCU (Diamond Sponsors), SchoolsFirst FCU and TruStage (Platinum Sponsors), and Catalyst Corporate, Educational Employees CU, and Visa (Gold Sponsors).
“We’re grateful for all the amazing support from our sponsors and golfers,” said RMJ Executive Director Tena Lozano. “It was a gorgeous day on the course, and we were able to raise a good sum of money to support our Bite of Reality® program, Financial Counselor Academy, and other projects.”
The tournament’s winning first-place foursome came from the Kinecta FCU team, consisting of Michael Lynch, Nick Watt, Josh Brewer, and Ken Potter.
The second-place team hailed from SHAZAM Network – ITS, Inc., consisting of Charles Papenfus, Lance Brown, Jason Lesteberg, and Chris Otey.
Closest-to-the-pin winners were Troy Muckerheide from Velocity Solutions and Jim Hossfeld from SchoolsFirst FCU.
