The California and Nevada Credit Union Leagues was recently recognized as a 2023 CHOC Gala Champion Honoree from the CHOC Foundation after the Credit Unions for Kids Wine Auction broke a fundraising record this past March during its 18th annual event — with $1.7 million raised for 11 Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals (CMN).
The CHOC Foundation, the fundraising arm of Children’s Hospital of Orange County, stated it is grateful to the Leagues and Credit Unions for Kids—Orange County for each and every supporter’s unwavering support of CHOC. CU4Kids is a consortium of credit unions that collaborate on fundraising activities benefiting CHOC and the children being served.
“Every March during the annual wine auction, we are honored to be involved in the success of raising funds for children receiving care at CHOC and so many other CMN hospitals across California and Nevada,” said Larry Palochik, executive vice president for the Leagues. “Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals do outstanding work caring for these special children and their families — and we always love being a part of that effort.”
The yearly wine auction that the Leagues help organize and host is the largest single fundraising event for Credit Unions for Kids, grossing more than $14 million since 2006. Credit Unions for Kids—Orange County has also played a huge role in these fundraising efforts since 2007.
