The California Credit Union League would like to congratulate California Sen. Mike McGuire (D-Healdsburg), who was sworn in as the 49th California State Senate President Pro Tempore this week.
McGuire was elected in 2014 and can lead the California Senate for up to two years before terming-out in 2026. He represents the state’s Senate District 2, which stretches from the California-Oregon border to the Golden Gate Bridge in San Francisco.
He also succeeds Sen. Toni Atkins (D-San Diego), who recently announced she will be joining the 2026 gubernatorial race.
