California DFPI’s Cybersecurity Threat Briefing on August 18

Support CU-Friendly Legislators & Candidates at These Events

Every year, the California and Nevada Credit Union Leagues’ legislative and grassroots advocacy teams host numerous political events that help support credit union-friendly candidates at the state and federal levels.

These events are supported by the Leagues’ Political Action Committee (PAC), which is funded by contributions from member credit unions or by the Credit Union Legislative Action Council (CULAC) that receives support from credit union employees and members.

Many of these events are free to attend for member credit unions! Please save the following dates for these upcoming PAC fundraising events:

  • August 7 — Fundraiser supporting California Assemblymember Phillip Chen (SchoolsFirst FCU in Tustin, CA).
  • August 10 — Joint check presentation supporting California Assemblymember Diane Dixon and Senator Janet Nguyen (Orange County’s CU in Huntington Beach, CA).
  • September 18 — Check presentation supporting California Senator Roger Niello (Sacramento CU in Folsom, CA).
  • September 19 — Check presentation supporting U.S. Representative Pete Aguilar (Credit Union House in Washington, D.C.).
  • September 28 — Fundraiser supporting Assemblymember Sabrina Cervantes, candidate for California State Senate in 2024 (SchoolsFirst FCU’s Riverside Operations Center in Riverside, CA).
  • Date to be determined (TBD) — Check presentation supporting Assemblymember Rebecca Bauer-Kahan (Patelco CU in Dublin, CA).
  • October 10 — Fundraiser supporting Assemblymember Jasmeet Bains’ re-election campaign (Valley Strong CU in Bakersfield, CA).
  • April 10, 2024 — California Government Relations Rally (GRR) fundraiser supporting Assembly Speaker Robert Rivas (Sacramento, CA).

2023 Fundraising Totals
Thank you to everyone who has participated in the Leagues’ individual state and federal PAC (political action committee) goals! To date, here is our update:

  • California CULAC: 50 percent of the $207,000 goal.
  • Nevada CULAC: 83 percent of the $9,992 goal.
  • California State PAC: 74 percent of the $755,000 goal.
  • Nevada State PAC: 92 percent of the $94,000 goal.
