Nominations for CCUL & NCUL Board, Audit Committee Elections

The nomination period for the election of leaders who want to serve on the board of directors and audit committee of the California Credit Union League (CCUL) and the board of directors of the Nevada Credit Union League (NCUL) from 2023 – 2024 is open! The deadline to nominate someone is 5 p.m. (Pacific) on July 31.

CCUL Board of Directors & Audit Committee
The Board consists of nine (9) directors: one director representing each of the four (4) asset-size groups and five (5) at large directors. Regular Member credit unions are invited to nominate qualified candidates by completing the Official CCUL Board Nomination Form no later than 5 p.m. on July 31, 2023. This communication may be forwarded to any individual authorized to nominate candidates on behalf of your credit union.

There are THREE (3) director positions available for election this year. Two (2) incumbents have announced their intention to seek re-election: Carol Galizia (Asset Group C) and Jenna Lampson (At Large). One (1) At Large Director is currently serving their third and final 3-year term and will not be seeking re-election.

The following three (3) director positions are open and available for election with terms as follows:

  • Asset Group C (position); 2026 (end of term); Carol Galizia (incumbent seeking reelection).
  • At Large (position); 2026 (end of term); Jenna Lampson (incumbent seeking reelection).
  • At Large (position); 2026 (end of term); OPEN.

Based on assets as of March 31, 2023, using the most current available Call Report Data, Asset Group C includes those credit unions with assets between $239,855,091.00 and $1,189,245,320.99.

Nominations are also being accepted for candidates interested in serving on the California Credit Union League (CCUL) Audit Committee. The Committee consists of three (3) members, each serving for a term of three years with staggered expirations.

This year, the CCUL Audit Committee has one (1) position available for election:

  • Committee Member (position); 2026 (end of term); OPEN.

Per Article VII, Section 7.03 of the CCUL Bylaws, “Individuals serving on the Board of Directors, Executive Committee, on the board of directors of any League subsidiary or affiliated corporation, or as an employee of the League, are not eligible to serve on the Audit Committee.” Regular Member credit unions are invited to nominate qualified candidates by completing the Official Audit Committee Nomination Form no later than 5 p.m. on July 31, 2023.

By August 10, each CCUL-member credit union CEO will receive an e-mail communication containing a unique identifier and password, and a link to the website containing the online ballot. Credit unions without a valid CEO e-mail address on file may update this information at any time by sending an e-mail to league@ccul.org with the credit union name, CEO name and e-mail address. On August 31, online voting will close at 5 p.m. The Executive Office will distribute an official announcement of the certified results by September 10. NCUL Board of Directors
There are TWO (2) Director positions available for election with a new term expiration of 2026. Regular Member credit unions are invited to nominate qualified candidates by completing the Official Nevada Credit Union League (NCUL) Board of Directors Nomination Form no later than 5 p.m. on July 31, 2023. The new board year commences immediately following the League’s Annual Business Meeting.

The Board of Directors is responsible for general oversight of League affairs, including defining the League’s mission, vision and direction; and adopting the budget and dues schedule. According to Article VI, Section 1, of the NCUL Bylaws, the Board of Directors shall consist of five (5) voting Directors with a term of three (3) years each.

The current NCUL Board of Directors is comprised of the following Directors:

  • Scott Arkills* (term expiring 2023**).
  • Steele Hendrix* (term expiring 2023**).
  • Matthew Kershaw (term expiring 2024).
  • Todd Sorenson (term expiring 2024).
  • Jennifer Denoo (term expiring 2025).
  • *Eligible incumbent candidate indicated their intent to seek re-election.
  • ** New term expires 2026.

Candidates for the NCUL Board of Directors must meet the qualifications described below at the time of election and throughout his or her term(s) of service:

  • Candidate must be both a member and an elected or appointed official or employee of a voting member credit union.
  • No member credit union may be represented by more than one Director on the Board. However, if a Director is affiliated with more than one credit union, the Director may serve if he or she represents a credit union not already represented on the Board.
  • No employee of the League or no member of their immediate families may serve on the Board of Directors of the League except as otherwise herein specified.

Nomination rules and procedures (NCUL):

  • To qualify for the ballot, a candidate must be nominated by his or her primary credit union, which must be a Regular Member of the League eligible to vote in the election for that office.
  • The individual making the nomination will be asked to certify on the Official Nomination Form that he or she has the authority to nominate a candidate on behalf of his or her credit union.
  • A credit union may nominate no more than one candidate for Director.
  • Nominations must be submitted using the Official Nomination Form. Credit unions requiring a print version of the Official Nomination Form may contact Davina Law at (909) 212-6005.
  • Nominations must be certified by either a corporate officer of the credit union or an officer of the credit union board of directors. A candidate may not certify his or her own nomination. Nominations not certified will not be counted. Credit unions are encouraged to maintain a record of persons with authority to nominate and/or vote in the corporate records.
  • All nominations must be received by the League offices in Ontario no later than 5 p.m. on July 31, 2023. Nominations received after that time will not be counted.
  • Verified candidates may, at his or her option, submit a photo and Statement of Qualifications (not to exceed 150 words) in order to provide any qualifications, experience or other information that would be helpful to voting credit unions.
  • Candidate names will appear on the ballot in the order in which their nominations were verified.
